When AutoImpact fits, and when it doesn't
AutoImpact does one job end to end: a book of business from policy extract to signed-off valuation. Here, plainly, is when that is the right tool, and when a larger platform is.
It fits when
- Your book is unit-linked, with-profits or annuities, valued under Lux GAAP, the Solvency II best estimate or IFRS 17.
- Much of month-end goes on data: extracts, model point files and reconciliation.
- You want your team to own the basis, the checks, the mappings and add-on calculations, without a developer.
- You want an independent second calculation that a reviewer can re-perform in Excel.
- You want it on your own machines, at a fixed, published price.
It's not the right choice when
- You need stochastic ALM, hedging or capital modelling across many product lines today.
- You need the Solvency II SCR, QRTs or ORSA projections now. They are on the roadmap, not in the current release.
- You write non-life or health business. AutoImpact is built for life insurers.
- You want to program entirely new product models yourself. AutoImpact's engine is configured, not programmed.
- You want the vendor to host and run it for you. AutoImpact runs on your own PCs or servers.
See the roadmap for the Solvency II review, the SCR, QRTs and ORSA projections.
Alongside, not instead
Working with the large platforms
FIS Prophet, Moody's AXIS and WTW RiskAgility FM are broad modelling platforms. Many teams keep one for breadth and add AutoImpact where it is strongest.
- In front of the model. TRACE builds and reconciles the model point file and exports it in Prophet format.
- After the model. The IFRS 17 engine runs the CSM roll-forward and disclosures on the model's cash flows.
- Beside the model. An independent second valuation, with a reviewer workbook in Excel formulas.

Questions to ask any vendor
Five questions, and our answers
| Question | AutoImpact's answer |
|---|---|
| Can our team change a calculation or data rule without code? | Yes: forms and plain-language rules, each approved by a second person. |
| Can a reviewer re-perform the figures outside the software? | Yes: the reviewer workbook rebuilds each run in Excel formulas. |
| Who can change the basis, and who approves it? | Roles come from business processes; every basis change needs a second person. |
| Where does our policy data live? | On your machines. Names and addresses are removed on upload. |
| What does it cost over three years? | £108,000: a £36,000 licence and £2,000 a month support, excluding VAT. |

Questions
Can AutoImpact replace FIS Prophet, Moody's AXIS or WTW RiskAgility FM?
For some books it can do the whole job, from extract to signed-off valuation. Those platforms model far more, so many teams use AutoImpact alongside them: for the data layer, the reconciliation, the IFRS 17 CSM on their results and an independent second calculation.
Can we use AutoImpact with our current model?
Yes. A locked model point file exports to Prophet model point files, and the IFRS 17 engine takes cash flows by group and year from any model in one CSV layout.
What does AutoImpact cost?
A one-off £36,000 licence and £2,000 a month for support and maintenance, excluding VAT. For other vendors' prices, ask them; we don't publish them.
How do we find out whether it fits our book?
Book a 30-minute demo. If it looks right, we'll run one of your extracts or one block of your model's results with you.
Find out if it fits your book
In 30 minutes we'll show the software and tell you plainly whether it fits what you need.
